Toyota & Lexus Engines We Carry

Here's the range, from swap builds to daily drivers:

  • 2JZ-GTE / 2JZ-GE — the 3.0L inline-6 from the Supra, Aristo, IS300, GS300 and SC300. Covered in detail below.

  • 1JZ-GTE VVTi — the 2.5L single-turbo inline-6, available with the automatic transmission attached. A popular alternative when 2JZ prices climb. Our 1JZ vs 2JZ guide breaks down the differences.

  • 2GR-FE / 2GR-FSE — the 3.5L V6 in the Camry, Highlander, Sienna, RAV4, Avalon, Venza and Lexus RX350, ES350, GS350 and IS350.

  • 2AR-FE / 2AZ-FE — the 2.4L and 2.5L fours for the Camry, RAV4, Scion tC and xB.

  • 3GR-FSE / 4GR-FSE — the V6s for the Lexus GS300 and IS250.

  • 1UR-FSE — the 4.6L V8 from the Lexus LS460.

  • 5VZ-FE — the 3.4L V6 for the 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra and T100.

  • 1ZZ-FE / 2ZR-FE — the four-cylinders for the Corolla, Celica GT, Matrix and Scion xD.

  • Hybrid units — 2AZ-FXE, 2AR-FXE, 2ZR-FXE and 1NZ-FXE for the Prius, Camry Hybrid, Lexus CT200h and HS250h.

  • 4AGE, 3SGTE and 3SGE BEAMS — classic swap engines we source on request. Our 4AGE engine guide covers the blacktop and silvertop differences.

The classic swap engines at the end of that list are sourced to order rather than kept on the shelf. Ask us and we'll tell you what's landing next.

JDM 2JZ Engines for Sale

The 2JZ is the engine we get asked about most, so it's worth covering properly. We carry both versions, the turbocharged GTE and the naturally aspirated GE, and each suits a different kind of build.

2JZ-GTE Twin-Turbo Engines

The 2JZ-GTE is a twin-turbo inline-6 known for handling big power without much fuss. Toyota built it for the Supra and the Toyota Aristo, and it's one of the most in-demand JDM engines in the US.

Our 2JZ-GTE engines include both VVTi and non-VVTi versions, and most arrive with low mileage straight from Japan. On the shelf right now: the 1998-2004 2JZ-GTE VVTi twin turbo engine and automatic transmission. If you want something closer to a 2JZ crate engine setup, with less extra work needed, the GTE is usually the better pick for turbo builds.

2JZ-GE (Naturally Aspirated) Engines

The 2JZ-GE skips the turbos but keeps the same solid inline-6 block. It showed up in the Lexus GS300, IS300, SC300 and some Supra trims. It's a good fit if you want a reliable daily driver engine or a strong base for a future turbo build, and it sits at a lower price point than the GTE.

Both of our current 2JZ-GE units are VVTi: the Lexus GS300 3.0L 2JZ-GE and the Lexus IS300 3.0L 2JZ-GE.

2JZ-GTE vs 2JZ-GE: Which Should You Buy?

The choice usually comes down to what you want the car to do. If you're chasing power and plan to run boost, the GTE makes more sense. If you want a dependable engine without turbo upkeep, the GE holds up well and costs less.

VVTi versus non-VVTi matters too. VVTi adjusts valve timing on the fly for better fuel efficiency and smoother power. Non-VVTi uses fixed timing, which some builders prefer since it's simpler to tune for high boost. Non-VVTi is the usual choice for serious power builds; VVTi suits a more streetable setup.

Lexus 2JZ Engines: IS300 and GS300

A lot of the 2JZ calls we get are from Lexus owners, not Supra owners. The IS300 and GS300 both ran the 2JZ-GE from the factory, so a replacement drops straight in with no swap work at all.

If your IS300 or GS300 is burning oil or has a tired bottom end, a low-mileage JDM 2JZ-GE is usually cheaper than a rebuild and gets the car back on the road faster. Both units are listed in the grid above.

Which Cars Came With the 2JZ?

The 2JZ came in the Toyota Supra (MK4 / A80) in both GTE and GE trims, the Toyota Aristo, the Toyota Chaser in some trims, and the Lexus GS300, IS300 and SC300. If your car isn't on that list, give us a call — we can usually confirm fitment over the phone.

2JZ Specs, HP & Price

The 2JZ is a 3.0L inline-6 with a DOHC head and a cast-iron block. That cast-iron block is a key reason it's known for handling big boost reliably. The GTE makes 220 to 320 hp from the factory depending on trim and market, and considerably more with proper supporting modifications. The GE makes 215 to 225 hp. Both were rear-wheel drive only — neither was ever factory-installed in a front-wheel-drive platform.

Price depends on whether it's a GTE or GE, VVTi or non-VVTi, the mileage, and what's included with the long block. A bare 2JZ-GE typically costs less than a complete 2JZ-GTE with turbos and harness attached. Give us a call for a quote based on your exact build.

Swap or Direct Replacement?

Some buyers need a direct replacement for a tired engine. Others are planning a full swap, such as a 2JZ into a Lexus IS300 or a different chassis entirely. We support both.

A swap usually needs extra parts like mounts, wiring and a matching transmission. If you're planning one, the automatic that comes attached to our 2JZ-GTE is the simplest route. Going manual instead? Talk to us about a gearbox before you order, and browse our Toyota transmissions to see what's on hand.

Our team can check harness fitment and ECU needs before you order. This helps avoid surprises during install.

Why Choose a Low-Mileage JDM Toyota Engine

JDM engines come from Japan, where strict vehicle inspection rules push owners to replace cars long before the engine wears out. That's why most of our motors arrive with low mileage compared to a used domestic engine of the same age.

Every engine we import goes through inspection at our Orlando warehouse before it's listed for sale. You get an engine that's been checked, not just shipped and hoped for.

What You Get With Each Engine

Each listing shows clear details. You can expect a long block, often with extra accessories, notes on the included parts for that specific unit, mileage information when available, and photos of the actual engine where possible.

Confirm Fitment Before You Order

Toyota and Lexus engines can share displacement but differ in wiring harnesses, ECUs and mounting points. Always check your year, make, model and engine code before placing an order. Not sure? Call us and we'll confirm compatibility on the spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 2JZ engine?

The 2JZ is a 3.0L inline-6 engine built by Toyota. It came in two main versions, the turbocharged GTE and the naturally aspirated GE, and powered the Supra along with several Lexus models.

Does Lexus have a 2JZ?

The Lexus GS300, IS300 and SC300 all came with a 2JZ-GE engine from the factory. We usually have GS300 and IS300 units in stock.

How much does a 2JZ engine cost?

Price depends on the version and condition. A 2JZ-GE typically costs less than a 2JZ-GTE, and mileage or included parts can shift the price further. Contact us for current pricing on in-stock units.

1JZ vs 2JZ, what's the difference?

The 1JZ is a smaller 2.5L version of the same engine family, while the 2JZ bumps displacement up to 3.0L. The 2JZ generally makes more power and handles higher boost, which is why it's the more popular swap choice. We carry 1JZ-GTE units too, so ask if you want to compare the two side by side.

How much horsepower does a 2JZ make?

Stock 2JZ-GTE engines make roughly 220 to 320 horsepower depending on the market and year. The 2JZ-GE makes less, usually around 215 to 225 hp, since it's naturally aspirated.

Which Toyota engine is the most reliable daily driver replacement?

For most owners it's the 2AZ-FE, 2AR-FE or 2GR-FE, depending on the car. They're common, well supported, and we usually have several in stock. Tell us your year and model and we'll point you at the right one.
